After a long silence, Agnė Turskienė spoke out revealing the real reason for her disappearance: "And now honestly..."

About why she did not share anything on social networks, A. Turskienė spoke on Instagram. She said that one of the reasons was the abundance of work, and another was that there is a lot of poor content on social networks.

“I report: alive. And probably more alive than ever. But I won’t delight you with anything dramatic.

Up to my neck in beloved work – the nearest goal is to cybernetically strengthen the health sector. I listen to 90s music, which no one has had time to ruin yet. I enjoy the sun. I am learning about my daughter’s adolescence (we are both learning, results vary). In the evenings – Netflix crime thrillers.

And now honestly. The deeper I investigate how social networks affect children and all of us, the less I want to be here. Not even to create content. To be at all. But I perfectly understand the other side – there simply are no better means to spread what I examine daily. Such a paradox.

Clearly, after those years of publicity, I wanted to disappear without a trace and rest from everything. And now when I look at what our public space is turning into, it makes me sick. Lies and cheaply staged lives. Content must bleed or undress, otherwise, it seems it does not exist. And everything else is a buried boring product for the algorithm. I don’t know about you, but I want to take out an old book, the kind that is no longer written, and get as far away from this as possible.

In September, I return to children’s safety on the internet (apologies to everyone I didn’t manage to visit at the end of the school year due to workload). I am preparing new presentations for conferences. And yes – the show will indeed start from autumn. Because being angry about cheap content is not enough. I need to try to create something useful myself. And that inevitably means returning to social networks. I am already gathering energy.

Going on air after a break is incredibly difficult. But I admit: I missed you,” wrote A. Turskienė.
