„I really like when a song can sound very different in various versions and reveal other layers, how it sounds originally and how it sounds in an acoustic concert,“ says Angelou, intriguing her fans about the upcoming performance.

The owner of a velvety voice, Andželika Petrauskaitė, better known on stage as Angelou, is today considered one of the brightest Lithuanian R&B music performers. However, in her latest creative phase, she is not afraid to experiment and seek new musical directions.
The single „Perlai gintarai“ released at the beginning of summer reveals an unheard side of the artist – the song features youthful dance music rhythms, and the whole mood breathes summer energy. The artist says that the jump between genres happened naturally, searching for new melodies and drawing inspiration from the spring warmth felt during the creative process.

„These things happen organically in creativity. Since the last album had a darker sound, naturally now I want to look for something new. Every time after a bigger project or single, I want to find new colors. I was definitely inspired by spring and the warming weather, I wanted a lighter energy, a song to dance to. I think both the inner mood suggested it and the search for a new sound for a new musical stage,“ says Angelou.
Creating the song with other famous Lithuanian musicians Benny! and Free Fing also remains a very bright, fun period in her memory, during which she gathered many new ideas. Filled with new creative winds, the artist does not intend to stop and is already thinking about the next creative stage, but she does not rush herself. She says she lets the creativity itself show the way and gives space for musical ideas to be born organically.
„Thoughts about the next album are forming, but I always try not to rush. It seems there are a couple of weeks when you create lighter, faster-paced music, but then you go to the studio and create something very slow. I think I have come to the conclusion that I would like not to decide before creating what the creativity will be like. I try not to think too logically but let the feeling lead, and wherever that feeling leads – that’s how it will be. I’m glad that now there is a lot of inspiration and creative thoughts back, so I think there should be even more new music soon,“ the artist reveals.

Speaking about the new creative impulse, Angelou says she is eagerly awaiting the performance in the concert series „Palangos parko vakarai“. On August 14, she will take the stage together with Benny! and invite listeners on a musical journey through different stages of her work – from the album „Fazė“ to the latest single „Perlai gintarai“. According to the singer, this song can sound completely different on the terrace of the Palanga Amber Museum than in the recording.

„We will go through different stages and combine them in the concert. We will definitely play songs from the „Fazė“ album and from the „Rodeo“ album, and we will definitely play the song „Perlai gintarai“. I am very much looking forward to performing this song on the terrace of the Palanga Amber Museum because it seems it will sound completely different. I really like when a song can sound very different in various versions and reveal other layers, how it sounds originally and how it sounds in an acoustic concert,“ the artist rejoices.
Angelou says that when performing, she values balance the most, and the ability to choose between acoustic concerts and performances with a band helps her maintain creative diversity. According to her, during concerts, she always tries to find ways to surprise the audience and let them remember the performance as a very beautiful experience.
„After playing more concerts with a band, I miss acoustic concerts, and after playing more acoustic concerts, I want to return and play with a full band. Both concert concepts are close to me and very different, so I would say both have things I miss. During performances, we always try to bring something new so that it feels like a unique, pleasant experience. That is my goal, for people to have a cozy and beautiful evening,“ says the singer.
The electric car manufacturer „BYD“ has also joined the concert series „Palangos parko vakarai“, supporting initiatives that promote a more sustainable lifestyle and a responsible attitude towards the environment. According to company representatives, culture and sustainability are increasingly going hand in hand, and events are a great opportunity to remind that a smaller environmental impact can be made not only by everyday choices but also when traveling to favorite events.
„We believe that the mobility of the future must be innovative and environmentally friendly, so we are happy to contribute to initiatives that encourage people to choose quality experiences and at the same time draw attention to more sustainable solutions. Every trip – to a concert, to the sea, or daily routes – can be a step towards a cleaner future. Moreover, „BYD“ cars have an integrated karaoke system, so the trips won’t be boring, rehearsing the lines of your favorite artist’s songs during the journey,“ says Augustina Černiauskaitė, head of „BYD Lithuania“.
