According to him, the most affected part is southern Lithuania – most reports are recorded in the municipalities of Lazdijai district, Druskininkai, Varėna district, Prienai district. A few calls were received from Širvintos and Vilkaviškis districts.
“Most of the trees pulled out are on the road carriageway or power grids, a few are on cars. We respond to incidents,” said the PAGD specialist.
According to the “Energy Distribution Operator” (ESO) outage map data, currently about 1.8 thousand residents in the country are without electricity due to disruptions, with 60 disruptions recorded.
According to the Lithuanian Hydrometeorological Service (LHMT) data at 10:10 p.m., isolated storm clouds are moving towards Alytus County.

In the coming hours, local centers of more intense rain will move into Alytus and Vilnius counties. Short rains with thunder are expected in places, heavy rain in some areas, with possible squall wind intensifications up to 15-20 m/s.
The service warns of possible difficult traffic conditions due to rain, short-term road flooding, tree branch breakage due to wind, and electricity supply disruptions.
LHMT meteorologist Simona Dalinkevičiūtė said earlier on Thursday that such summer storms may become more frequent in the future, and residents and municipalities will have to adapt to more frequent extreme weather.
