As stated in the ministry’s announcement, this fund has already contributed to the restoration of important cultural sites in Ukraine, and new projects are planned for the future.

“Lithuania joins the Ukrainian Cultural Heritage Fund, dedicated to preserving and restoring war-damaged heritage. This is an important step of solidarity and responsibility. Lithuania has been and will be with Ukraine. We support this country not only with words but also with concrete actions,” said the minister.
According to the ministry, the meeting with the Ukrainian minister focused mainly on the protection of cultural heritage under war conditions, strengthening international cooperation, and joint initiatives in the field of culture.
The meeting also discussed combating Russian propaganda and disinformation, as well as public resilience. Both countries agreed to strengthen cooperation by sharing experiences in fighting informational threats.

The culture ministers also talked about preparations for Lithuania’s presidency of the Council of the European Union in 2027. Lithuania will seek to actively involve Ukraine in culture ministers’ meetings and other presidency program events, promote joint cultural projects in Europe, and institutional cooperation among museums, theaters, and other cultural institutions.
According to the ministry, the visit to Kyiv once again confirmed Lithuania’s strong support for Ukraine and the commitment of both countries to jointly protect cultural heritage and develop a long-term strategic partnership.
