In the last week of the month, biofuel became even more expensive – its price reached 26.8 euros per MWh, or 9.6% more than at the same time in June, the Lithuanian Energy Agency (LEA) reported on Wednesday.

“Preparing for the new heating season, biofuel prices are rising in Lithuania,” the agency reported.

According to LEA, in the second half of July, the average price of long-term biofuel purchase agreements concluded in Lithuania reached 29.53 euros per MWh – 43% more than at the same time last year (20.7 euros).

Meanwhile, the average price of centrally supplied heat in August is 8.11 cents per kilowatt-hour – almost 1% more than in July and 28.32% more than in August 2025.
