The festival weekend began on Friday, May 29, with a new “Pink Break” initiative, which at 12 noon invited city residents and visitors to Vilnius to sit down together for pink lunches. They can take place in the office, yard, on the roof, in the park, or any other place where a bowl of cold beetroot soup and good company fit.

In the evening, at 7 p.m., the official festival opening took place in the Town Hall Square, featuring musical performances and a comedy show.

The main part of the “Vilnius Pink Soup Fest” will move to the White Bridge on May 30–31. One of the brightest highlights of this year’s festival will be the cold beetroot soup parade floating on the Neris River for the first time. On Saturday from 12 noon, a pink column of boats, kayaks, and other watercraft will stretch along the river, symbolically announcing the start of the event. There will be plenty of music, flags, festival characters, and festive accents, and spectators dressed in pink will be able to travel along the right side of the Neris embankment – from the Energy and Technology Museum (Žvejų St. 14) to the White Bridge.
Later, visitors will also enjoy traditional activities: the waiters’ run from the Green to the White Bridge and the cold beetroot soup costume contest. This year, participants will be judged by an international jury, so festival guests are encouraged to get even more involved in the pink weekend mood and show their love for cold beetroot soup. A fun novelty – the “IKI soties” cold soup eating competition will take place over two days, during which each participant will have to finish several liters of pink soup, and the fastest to do so will win.
At the White Bridge – pink slide, mechanical cucumber, and cold beetroot soup pool
At the festival spaces near the White Bridge, visitors will find one of the brightest festival traditions – the pink slide. This year, it will stretch from the White Bridge for the first time, making it not only an adrenaline-filled attraction but also one of the most photogenic spots of the festival.
