„AB „Kelių priežiūra“ informs that the situation near the Bukiškis viaduct in Avižieniai, Vilnius district, has basically stabilized. Road workers have managed to significantly reduce the level of accumulated surface water, and the remaining water removal works are ongoing.
Traffic in this area is still restricted for now, but it is planned that around midnight the traffic restrictions will be lifted and traffic will be resumed.
Last night’s storm was particularly intense in some parts of Lithuania, causing large accumulations of surface water in a very short time in some places. In such situations, the goal is to restore traffic as quickly as possible, but no decision can be made at the expense of safety.
AB „Kelių priežiūra“ thanks residents and drivers for their patience, understanding, and responsible behavior. Also, thanks to partners and all responsible institutions for prompt cooperation in coordinating actions and managing the situation,” the company’s statement on „Facebook“ reads.
