The celebration at noon will begin with the flag-raising ceremony of the city of Klaipėda at the castle site. After that, the Vilnius LITUA Rotary Club will donate to the city and the Museum of the History of Lithuania Minor a facsimile of the 1009 Quedlinburg Annals, in which the name of Lithuania was mentioned for the first time.
It is announced that on the birthday day, a medieval town will operate at the castle site, where visitors can watch knight fights, shoot bows, learn medieval dances, get acquainted with the Curonian way of life, and taste ancient dishes.
In the evening, the events will move to the Theater Square of the port city, where the solemn ceremony of awarding the title of Klaipėda Culture Master and the title of Honorary Citizen of Klaipėda will take place.
Philosopher and writer Arvydas Juozaitis will be awarded the title of Klaipėda Culture Master, and academician Vladas Žulkus – the title of Honorary Citizen of the city.

A concert is scheduled a little later, featuring Ingaja, Paulina Paukštaitytė, and DJ Tomas Boo.
The organizers invite participants of the birthday events to dress in the colors of the Klaipėda city flag – red and yellow. All events are free of charge.
