The US citizen was traveling with a friend and decided to go for a swim but did not return. After a few hours, her friend began to panic because Elizabeth did not have a phone with her – this was told to the WRAL channel by another longtime friend of Elizabeth, Amanda Romano-Harmon.

“She was wearing a swimsuit and went outside to their Airbnb accommodation,” Amanda said. “There was a pool nearby with a view of the bay. Liz settled by the pool to enjoy the view, while her friend was attending remote courses. “When she finished her courses and looked up, Liz was no longer by the pool. Then she went outside to look for her friend and saw her towel on the dock. So our only theory is that maybe she went swimming.” A missing person report has been filed with the police (a search for the missing person has begun).

Elizabeth’s husband Cailen is asking anyone with information to come forward. “Facebook friends, my wife Liz has gone missing in Grenada,” he wrote in a post on the social media platform on July 24. “If any of you have connections to the island – could you please share the information below with your contacts? Liz disappeared on Wednesday afternoon.

I am now traveling there to help search for her. I hope Liz returns safely – so please send us your love, light, thoughts, and prayers.”

Cailen and his daughter arrived in the country on Friday. “The police have been great,” he told WRAL News. “The investigation is ongoing. The police have been very open in communication and have done everything that seems possible to help find her.”

Amanda, who has been friends with the couple for 25 years, said that Cailen and his daughter split up to operate more efficiently and cover a larger area. The Royal Grenada Police are in contact with fishermen, boat operators, and residents of the southern coast and are looking for ways to ensure Elizabeth’s safe return.
