“On July 29, 2026, contact was lost with a Ukrainian Air Force F-16 fighter jet. The pilot was carrying out a combat mission – tasked with intercepting enemy air targets on one of the front lines. According to preliminary data, an emergency situation occurred on the aircraft and the pilot was forced to eject,” the statement said.
According to the statement, the pilot is currently safe, having been successfully evacuated and taken to a medical facility for examination and diagnosis.

“Experts and law enforcement officers are working at the accident site. No civilian casualties or damage have been reported. The cause of the accident is being determined,” the armed forces added.
