Sanctions against T. Navka were imposed after the full-scale war began in Ukraine in 2022, due to her connections with “a person supporting actions that threaten the territorial integrity of Ukraine”. Sanctions were also imposed because, according to EU data, T. Navka was a co-owner of companies and real estate in annexed Crimea.

In her lawsuit, D. Peskov claims that the EU Council did not have sufficient grounds to include her in the “blacklist”. Furthermore, the document emphasizes that these restrictions allegedly violate her right to human dignity, as well as the right to respect for family life concerning her and her children. As compensation for material damage, T. Navka demanded almost 135 thousand euros, and for moral damage – more than 1.9 million euros.

T. Navka’s lawsuit was filed with the EU court along with similar lawsuits filed by billionaire Roman Trotsenko and singer Polina Gagarina at the end of May.
