Ukrainian prosecutors and defense industry representatives reported earlier that at least ten people were killed and dozens more injured when Russia struck a weapons exhibition near Kyiv.
Ukraine’s Prosecutor General reported that at least 10 people were killed and about 100 were injured in the missile strike.
He did not specify whether all the dead and injured were participating in the event.
„The investigation will determine who made the decision to hold this event (…) and whether risk factors were properly assessed under martial law,” said Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko, announcing a criminal investigation.
„A rescue operation is currently underway in the Kyiv region after a Russian missile strike,” said Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, without specifying exactly what was hit.
Andriy Hrytseniuk, head of the state-backed defense group „Brave1“, called the strike a terrible tragedy.
„The enemy carried out a ballistic strike against an event organized by a private association of manufacturers,” he said.

„I strongly urge all defense industry representatives to urgently review and strengthen their safety protocols,” he added.
Kyiv usually does not disclose information about Russian strikes on military targets.
However, many industry representatives and officials reacted negatively, implying that the event was poorly organized and demanding that those responsible take accountability.
According to Ukrainian media, the event was announced online in advance.
Since the beginning of the war, Russia has repeatedly struck Ukrainian training grounds and military events.
The Ukrainian Air Force, cited by the „Ukrainska Pravda“ portal, separately reported that air defense intercepted one Russian ballistic missile on Friday afternoon, but two other missiles struck the Kyiv region.
