The 67th Sea Festival will stand out with visual accents and solutions according to this year’s theme – “Like in a movie. Your most beautiful summer shot”.
According to the organizers, Klaipėda will become like a huge open-air film set – with director’s chairs, cinema installations, live film sets, a street of theaters, dancing fountains, cinema spaces for families, and even the opportunity to contribute to the creation of a real film.
The city will be filled with special decorations, film strips, and large two-meter-high director’s chairs.
Special open-air cinema screenings are also organized in the evenings.
On Birža Bridge, a photo wall, reminiscent of the most important film freeze-frame, already welcomes everyone and invites them to capture the most beautiful summer shot.
Flags flutter overhead, creating a festive mood and atmosphere.
In the street of cinema stories, everyone will be able to become an actor and even recreate the most spectacular scenes written in gold letters in the history of cinema.
At the intersection of Turgaus and Tiltų streets, guests will be greeted by an interactive installation “Singing in the Rain”, inspired by the film “Singing in the Rain” – here, real rain will pour under hanging umbrellas, and everyone will be able to become the hero of their own film shot.
On Turgaus Street, everyone will be greeted by “Marilyn Monroe’s Gust”.
G. Nausėda will lead the procession
Klaipėda Mayor Arvydas Vaitkus, opening the festival, emphasized the importance of the maritime city: the port city is not only the economic engine of the country. Lithuanian seafarers are valued worldwide.
On Friday evening, a traditional procession will march through the streets of Klaipėda. Its participants intend to create a cinematic atmosphere for the city residents.

According to Algis Latakas, head of Klaipėda Port Authority, the procession is expected to have a record number of participants, with almost 8,000 people taking part.
The procession will be led by the country’s president Gitanas Nausėda.
One of the most important highlights of the festival is the fair, where about 750 traders participate.
Counting participants
As Živilė Putnienė, head of “Klaipėdos šventės”, said, it is usually estimated that about half a million people visit the Sea Festival over three days. This year, more accurate numbers are expected: mobile operators will record data.
The main star of the Sea Festival is the British singer Emeli Sandé. Her concert is scheduled for Saturday, 10 PM, at the Cruise Ship Terminal.
After a break, the night show of fireworks, lights, and fountains will once again be admired on Jono kalnelis. It will be visible after dark on Friday and Saturday evenings.
“The Sea Festival offers over 100 free events. We see that the sun is shining in Klaipėda, so everyone is warmly invited to head to the seaside this weekend,” said Ž. Putnienė.
