F-16 pilot got to work: Romania shot down a drone in its airspace for the first time

This is the first such case since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

“There was a drone in our airspace. At about 11 a.m. local (and Lithuanian) time, it was shot down by a Romanian pilot flying an F-16 (fighter jet),” N. Dan said at a press conference.

He added that the area over which the drone was shot down is uninhabited and that an investigation into the incident has been launched.
