Latvian border guards turned back 71 migrants on Thursday, and there were no attempts to illegally enter the country at the Polish border on Wednesday.
This year, a total of 957 illegal migrants were not allowed into Lithuania. Last year, there were more than 1.6 thousand attempts to enter the country from Belarus in unauthorized places, and the year before last, this number reached 1002.
In total, since the beginning of the migration crisis caused by Belarus, Lithuanian border guards have prevented more than 25.5 thousand foreigners from illegally entering the country.

The influx of migrants into the eastern EU members from Belarus began in 2021, with the West accusing the Minsk regime of organizing it.
