Some time after their public engagement, O. Pikul and D. Dirkstys announced that they plan to get married on September 26, during the UTMA tournament at Kaunas “Žalgiris” Arena. A few months before the event, fans became concerned that nothing was heard from the couple about the preparations, so they even considered returning tickets, as they bought them specifically for the famous couple’s wedding.

The portal Žmonės.lt contacted D. Dirkstys about this situation, and he admitted that he does not yet know exactly when the wedding will take place.
“We are currently still working on all the details, so we cannot yet provide final confirmation regarding the wedding date. There is a possibility that the date may change, but at the moment, this is certainly not 100% decided. Whatever the final decision regarding the celebration, the UTMA tournament on September 26 will definitely take place, and many spectacular fights await the spectators. Therefore, we invite everyone to come support the fighters and enjoy the event – if the wedding takes place on the same day, it will only be a pleasant additional accent, and if the plans change, the tournament will not suffer at all. As soon as we have a final decision on all the details, we will definitely inform the public about it,” Dirkstys told Žmonės.lt.
UTMA Reacted
Žmonės.lt reminds that UTMA also commented on this issue, but assured that they are only responsible for the fights, and not for the personal decisions of the fighters.
“It is important to emphasize that the organization is directly responsible for the sporting part of the event – the confirmed fight bracket and the course of the tournament.

Athletes’ personal statements, plans related to the tournament date, pre-fight exits, social media communication, or personal life plans are personal decisions of the fighters, for which the organization is not responsible and does not comment on them. Fans’ Concern
The question of whether the wedding would take place arose when a concerned reader contacted the Žmonės.lt editorial office and wondered if she was being deceived.
“It’s becoming suspicious because the couple, who demonstrate every step online, no longer talk about the wedding, nor do they show moments of preparation for it. Could it be that this was just a trick to encourage buying tickets for the event?
As soon as we found out that the wedding would take place, out of curiosity, we bought tickets for UTMA, but if it turns out that the wedding will not happen, will it be possible to get a refund for the tickets?
