Channel “112” clarified that it was a training flight.
According to the information received, the pilot managed to eject and no one was injured.
The local Telegram channel “Zvenigorod” published a series of photos from the scene. The photos, taken from various angles, show fire and a thick column of black smoke. The channel also conveyed witnesses’ words that the pilot ejected, and then the plane exploded.
According to the “Mash” channel, before ejecting, the pilot tried to steer the plane away from residential buildings.
The newspaper “Izvestia”, citing a source, confirmed the fighter jet crash in the Lucino area, but did not specify the aircraft model. According to the publication, operational services went to the scene.
The circumstances and causes of the accident are currently being investigated. Russia has not yet issued any official confirmation.
The “Su-57” is Russia’s latest multi-role fighter jet, which the manufacturer and Russian authorities classify as a fifth-generation aircraft. The aircraft made its first flight in 2010 and is considered the most modern fighter in service with the Russian Air Force.
