The planned joint venture between the French company Framatome’s subsidiary and Russia’s state nuclear energy agency Rosatom wants to produce fuel cores used in Russian-designed reactors.

The project would be carried out at Framatome’s fuel core assembly plant in Lingen, Lower Saxony.

Framatome’s subsidiary AND submitted an application for project approval in March 2022, just weeks after Russia launched a full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
