The strong air current instantly sucked the man halfway out of the plane, where he hit an air stream traveling at approximately 600 km/h and lost consciousness.
L. Karovic’s life was saved only because he was wearing a seatbelt and by the lightning-fast reaction of other passengers – men grabbed his legs, pulled him back into the cabin, and blocked the hole in the window with a suitcase.

Today, the victim rejoices in the miracle he survived, but admits to being spiritually shattered, still hears the explosion when he closes his eyes, states he will never fly again, and urges all passengers to always observe safety requirements.
Accusations against the airline crew
The victim’s family and their lawyer do not spare criticism for Ryanair.
According to them, the flight attendants were in such a strong state of shock due to the sudden descent of the plane that they simply froze in fear, and real help to the man was provided only by the passengers themselves.
Although the airline defends its staff’s actions, the marathon of legal disputes over compensation for damages is just beginning, and L. Karovičius himself is currently continuing long-term treatment in Greece.
