The news portal “The Athletic” reports that the hockey player died at the age of 60. He played 21 seasons in the NHL league.

During his career, he played 1215 regular season games, scored 379 goals, and earned as many as 1777 penalty minutes.

C. Lemieux was highly hated in Detroit. After a hit on Kris Draper from behind in the 1996 playoffs, he broke the Red Wings player’s eye socket, cheekbone, and jaw.

The next season, on March 26, 1997, the famous Red Wings and Avalanche fight took place, in which Darren McCarty fought C. Lemieux. Shortly after, the latter curled up on the ice trying to shield himself from a hail of punches.

During his NHL career, he played for the Montreal Canadiens, New Jersey Devils, Colorado Avalanche, Phoenix Coyotes, Dallas Stars, and San Jose Sharks teams.

He won the Stanley Cup in 1986, 1995, 1996, and 2000.
