On Sunday, as many as 38 athletes competed in the event, filling the Madžiūnai drift arena with the smoke of burning tires. These competitions are unique in that athletes of all levels can compete, the main requirement being tires that meet the “Street” level. Such a competition concept adds charm to the races and requires exceptional skill – athletes must not only execute the track configuration well but also adapt to cars of different power when driving in tandem runs.

Deimantė showed excellent pace already in qualifying. In two qualifying runs, she scored 87 and 86 points, placing Deimantė in 12th position after qualifying.

In the tandem runs, Deimantė continued to demonstrate stability and courage and confidently made it to the top four, where she was to meet Gediminas Levickas, also representing the “Drift Happens” team.

In the Top 4 stage, both drivers demonstrated extremely strong runs, so the judges awarded the drivers a so-called “one more time”, during which Deimantė and Gediminas repeatedly “clarified” which athlete was worthy of going to the final. After a masterful performance by both drivers, the judges decided that Deimantė would go to the grand final to compete for first or second place.

In the final, Deimantė faced a strong young man, Karolis Bašinskas. After a fierce and breathtaking duel, she achieved victory and lifted the winner’s trophy. The team’s successful performance in the second stage of “Drift Grounds” was complemented by Gediminas Levickas’ third place in the small final.

It marks 11 years of hard work and dedication, strong will, and perseverance. In a sport dominated by men, Deimantė proved that the most important thing is a continuous pursuit of improvement and tenacity.

As Deimantė herself says, giving up is definitely not an option. The experience gained in these competitions gives the athlete even more confidence to continue contributing to the history of Lithuanian drifting.
