Immediately after the final referee Slavko Vinčić’s whistle, the disappointed Argentinians clashed with their opponents. Midfielder Leandro Paredes, who came on as a substitute and was already struggling to control himself during the match, fought with Eric Garcia and Gavi, and defender Nahuel Molina struck a passing Spaniard in the chest area.
After the final, Argentina national team head coach Lionel Scaloni’s assistant Roberto Ayala also “distinguished himself” by slapping Spanish midfielder Dani Olmo in the face.
Fortunately, the situation did not escalate into a more serious conflict because the Barcelona player did not respond physically to the Argentinian.

Eventually, the conflicts were calmed down, and one of the most active peacemakers was L. Scaloni, who separated the sparking final participants.
53-year-old R. Ayala himself represented Argentina from 1994 to 2007 and participated in the 1998, 2002, and 2006 World Cups. He has been working in the national team’s coaching staff since 2019.
