According to the general, the Kostiantynivka direction remains one of the hottest on the entire front line. On average, up to 20 attacks are carried out by the enemy here per day, and the Russians do not give up their intentions to try to penetrate deeper into the city.
„Based on intelligence data, Russian occupiers have concentrated up to 145 people in Kostiantynivka. To detect and destroy enemy infantry and fire positions, our soldiers conduct search and strike operations, massively use first-person view (FPV) drones, and throw explosives from unmanned aerial vehicles. The attackers suffer heavy losses. For example, on July 18 alone, enemy losses in the city amounted to 21 killed and 6 wounded. Six shelters were destroyed,“ informed O. Syrskyi.
The commander of the Armed Forces emphasized that Ukraine’s defenders have the task of defending Kostiantynivka and delivering the strongest possible blows to the Russians, and, as he added, they are fulfilling their commitments.
Russia has been conducting an offensive against Kostiantynivka for more than a year but has not managed to establish full control over the city, despite Kremlin statements about the alleged capture of the city.

On July 3, the Russian Ministry of Defense released a video showing Russian soldiers in various locations in the center of Kostiantynivka. With it, the ministry claimed that the city is fully occupied.
Meanwhile, journalists noted that this statement does not correspond to reality. It is contradicted by testimonies of Ukrainian soldiers, video geolocation, and independent analysts’ „DeepState“ maps, which show that Russian forces are only trying to penetrate deeper into the city.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky responded to Kremlin disinformation and suggested to Kremlin host Vladimir Putin to hold negotiations in Kostiantynivka if the city is indeed under Russian control.
