“He just told us that in Poland we have to speak Polish,” the teenager recalled.
According to him, the man then began to behave aggressively. He slapped the teenager with his palm, and when the bus stopped and the driver opened the door, the man forcefully pushed the teenager and his friend out of the vehicle.
“He behaved very aggressively, constantly swearing, pushed us out of the bus,” the victim said.
After the attack on her teenage son, his mother Natalija Melnyk admitted that she now constantly worries about his safety.
“I don’t feel safe in Płock. I’m afraid to speak my language, I really am,” the woman said.
She also revealed that after the incident she worries every time her son does not answer the phone.
“When I call him now and he doesn’t answer the first time, I’m already in a panic, I can’t work properly,” N. Melnyk added.
The Płock district prosecutor’s office has launched an investigation. Investigators have already questioned the minor’s legal representative and a witness to the incident.

According to prosecutor Marcin Policewicz, law enforcement officers are carrying out necessary investigative actions and identifying the man who attacked the teenagers. A decision will then be made regarding possible charges against him.
Not the first such case
Earlier this week it was reported that an adult man attacked a Ukrainian girl on a bus in Bielsko-Biała. The video quickly spread on social media and drew the attention of law enforcement agencies.
In a clip filmed by one of the girls, a man described as middle-aged and elegantly dressed can be heard swearing and cursing, telling the girls to “f*** off to Ukraine.”
He also attacked a girl who stood up to defend the child. It can be seen how one of the girls tries to defend herself, and at one point another is heard asking the man not to touch her. However, the man only becomes more enraged and profanities pour from his mouth. After the incident, the man was quickly detained.
Poland’s Minister of the Interior Marcin Kierwiński stated that “the state will respond decisively to any forms of aggression.”
Changing moods in society
The incident occurred at a time when changes are being recorded in the attitude of part of Polish society towards Ukrainian refugees.
According to the latest Public Opinion Research Center (CBOS) survey, 54 percent of Poles believe that aid to Ukrainians is excessive.
This is the first time in the history of such surveys that the number of people opposing the acceptance of refugees from Ukraine exceeds those in favor.
