Romania reports agreements for the purchase of radars and helicopters worth 1 billion euros

Romania’s modernization efforts are aimed at strengthening Europe’s defense following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and doubts about the United States’ commitment to the continent’s security when Donald Trump became US president.

The Defense Ministry press release states that it plans to purchase 12 multi-role helicopters from Airbus for 757 million euros and 12 Thales airspace surveillance radars worth 247 million euros.
