According to him, Europe needs good neighborly, equal, and mutually beneficial relations based on respect.
“Poland provided significant support to Ukraine after the start of the large-scale Russian invasion, and we are grateful for that. Defending Ukraine’s independence directly means strengthening Poland’s independence as well. The security challenges facing Europe today can only be overcome through cooperation, especially thanks to the collaboration of free states in our region. I thank the participants of the meeting for their initiatives and proposals. We agreed on several key steps,” said V. Zelensky.
According to him, decisions will first be made in the diplomatic field.
“Second – all archives of the Ukrainian security service and the Ukrainian foreign intelligence service related to the events of the 20th-century Volyn tragedy will be opened. Third – an additional significant number of permits for search and exhumation works will be issued, and together with Poland, we must create broader opportunities to carry out such works. Fourth – we discussed possible formats to expand the dialogue between Ukrainian and Polish societies,” said the president.

V. Zelensky also announced that he had agreed with the head of the Ukrainian National Memory Institute, Oleksandr Alferov, on strengthening the institute’s activities.
“Oleksandr will prepare and submit systematic proposals, and I ask the responsible officials and the relevant committee of the Verkhovna Rada to consider the possibility of increasing the funding and other support for the Ukrainian National Memory Institute. To properly represent Ukraine’s interests, appropriate capabilities are also necessary,” he emphasized.
