The prosecutor’s office has launched a pre-trial investigation, and the Marijampolė police are clarifying the circumstances of the incident.

The mother of the victim also spoke about the situation. She told the portal “Delfi” that she believes this, as she called it, execution was planned. She said she came to this conclusion after talking with her daughter and analyzing the video that spread publicly, which shows that the children filming were already prepared for it.
It shows that many teenagers are involved in the incident, but only one teenager tries to defend the abused girl, while others, including many boys, just film.
The mother also indicated that her daughter’s head was badly beaten – the video showed the attacker hitting her with a phone.
The previously reported law enforcement version that the conflict might have arisen due to comments on social media was also confirmed by the mother, but she said that the attacker was the first to share inappropriate comments with photos of her daughter.
Law enforcement investigates
On Thursday, Vilma Sakalauskienė, deputy chief prosecutor of the Marijampolė district, told journalists that the conflict might have arisen due to a comment on social media. The girls knew each other, but the prosecutor said she could not specify the exact relationship between them.
According to initial data, the victim suffered several dozen blows with hands, feet, and a phone held in the hand. Other people nearby watched and filmed the incident, and the recording with violent images against the minor spread on social media the same evening.
After the incident, the teenager felt unwell and was taken to a medical facility. Later she was discharged to continue treatment at home.
Vilma Sakalauskienė said that the victim’s relatives contacted law enforcement about the incident.
