This is provided for in the agreement signed by the interior ministers. Meeting at the Lithuanian Presidency, Martynas Katelynas and Janis Dombrava paid particular attention to combating organized illegal migration.
“A bilateral agreement on interstate cooperation in combating crime has been signed – an important step in further strengthening our common security and cooperation between law enforcement agencies. At the same time, this agreement will also contribute to more effective combat against the criminal organized migrant smuggling network,” M. Katelynas is quoted in the statement.
