Director Saulius Baradinskas says that the idea for the musical was nurtured for seven years, and just the search for funding required five years of patience and persistence. “Betono muzika” is not a simple film – it is an ambitious musical story that continues the theme started in the short film “Betono vaikai” about freedom, rebellion, and district culture.

The famous screenwriter Eglė Vertelytė, whose recently presented film “Pietinia kronikas” (dir. Ignas Miškinis, prod. Lukas Trimonis) became a true cinema phenomenon and won 12 “Silver Cranes” awards, has also joined the realization of this epic.
“The time has come to tell the story of our film. I have spent my whole life creating music videos, and now I am combining this experience with cinema. This is the biggest, most creatively ambitious, and unique film in my career. I am ready to give it my all. I have been waiting for this moment my entire life and I am incredibly grateful to my wonderful team, who are my greatest inspiration.” – shares S. Baradinskas.
Now the project is officially gaining momentum, and the feature-length musical plans to reach cinema halls in the winter of 2028.
From rising stars to stage professionals
In the spring, the entire cast gathered for the first time for joint script readings, and today the main roles of “Betono muzika” are officially revealed.
“It is a great honor for me that this film will feature so many talented Lithuanian actors. Most importantly, all generations of Lithuanian musical and musical film actors will meet here, and the younger generation will open a new chapter of musicals in Lithuania,” the director rejoices.

The film will also feature music professionals Andrius Mamontovas, Jurga Šeduikytė, Algirdas Kaušpėdas, as well as film and theater actors: Laurynas Jurgelis, Valentin Novopolskij, Ilona Balsytė, Vaidotas Martinaitis, Vaiva Mainelytė, and Arūnas Vozbutas.
The first script readings left a strong impression on the actors
“When you read the script alone, you hear all the dialogues only in your inner voice. But when all the actors read together, embodying their characters, you feel like you are in a radio play. I heard the script completely differently,” says singer Andrius Mamontovas.

Jurga Šeduikytė emphasizes the magic of the musical genre: “I was very happy reading the script. I felt that emotionally everything is brought to the point where you no longer want to talk, but to sing. There is a lot of youthful energy here, which allows you to reclaim and remember your inner teenager. All boundaries are open, so this is a very beautiful process that I am very much looking forward to.”
