Russian defense systems fell silent after 7 shots: Crimean power plant attacked by jet drones

According to witnesses, a jet drone or missile flew in the direction of the power plant, and at about 4:10 a.m. an explosion was heard, followed by a white cloud of smoke rising. It is reported that the strike was also accompanied by a bright flash, after which the light disappeared.

As the channel’s authors guessed, it was probably a hit on equipment responsible for steam supply or removal. The fact that drones hit the power plant is confirmed by the diversion of buses passing by the thermal power plant. “Krymskij veter” concludes that “there is something to hide.” The Russian-appointed Crimean authorities also announced an “attack on energy infrastructure.”

The first attack was repelled by the “Pantsir” anti-aircraft missile systems in the Yalta ring and the Fedyuchino heights, but after seven shots they “went silent.” Then mobile fire groups got involved.

By the end of the attack, at least two jet drones had arrived. As “Krymskij veter” writes, this was “unexpected” for the mobile groups, and the reaction was delayed. From 5 to 6 a.m., the mobile groups fired into the sky every 20–30 minutes, trying to shoot down the drones buzzing in the air.

Due to the ongoing Ukrainian strike campaign, massive and long-term power outages began in occupied Crimea at the end of June: entire regions remain without electricity for several days, and in most districts there are no clear power outage schedules.
