Admission through this competitive queue takes place in the same way as through the regular competitive queue, but applicants who meet the requirements of the second competitive queue are given the opportunity to compete separately for a study place.

The second competitive queue can be used by those who meet at least one of the applicable requirements:
- are from very low-income families,
- are orphans no older than 25 years, whose both parents (or the only parent they had) are deceased,
- are wards,
- have a participation level of 45% or less,
- have a severe or moderate disability level,
- have at least 24 months of practical work experience if applying for bachelor’s or integrated studies.
Practical work experience includes work under an employment contract in the last 3 years, voluntary activity under a voluntary activity agreement, completed or credited military service.
Applicants through the second competitive queue, like all applicants, submit electronic applications in the LAMA BPO general admission information system (BPIS). Applicants must indicate in the admission application that they meet at least one of the second competitive queue criteria. Applications to participate in the main admission can be submitted until July 23 at 12:00.
About 1.3 thousand (or 10%) of state-funded study places are allocated to the second competitive queue in total.
Admission requirements – the same as for everyone
Applicants through the second competitive queue are subject to the same academic preparation requirements as all applicants. They must have passed at least three state maturity exams: Lithuanian language and literature, mathematics, and one exam freely chosen by the applicant.
Applicants to arts studies and graduates of short-cycle studies need only two exams: applicants to arts do not need mathematics, and graduates of short-cycle studies do not need the elective exam.
The arithmetic average of the three (two for arts applicants or after short studies) state maturity exam scores must be at least the basic learning achievement level (50 points) if applying to a university, and at least the satisfactory level (41 points) if applying to a college.
All applicants also need to achieve the minimum competitive admission score set by the universities themselves.
