Approved the plans
During the NATO meeting, D. Trump approved plans to allow Ukraine to produce the “Patriot” defense missiles itself and positively assessed Ukraine’s strikes on Russia’s oil and energy infrastructure.
According to the US leader, these actions destabilize economic resources and may accelerate the end of the conflict.
After the conversation with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, the US leader also mentioned that he plans to call Vladimir Putin in the near future.
This statement received a quick response from Moscow – the Russian side immediately expressed readiness for such contact.
Diplomacy “cooled down”?
However, although Moscow publicly confirmed waiting for the conversation, the planned phone call did not take place. Analysts believe this pause indicates certain changes in the diplomatic communication between the countries.
According to analysts from “Deutsche Welle” (DW), this pause and the canceled visits of US special envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner to Moscow indicate a changed Washington approach.

It seems that the US administration is no longer willing to maintain contacts without clear signs of Moscow’s readiness for compromises.
Continuing cooperation
While the prospects for negotiations remain unclear, US and Ukrainian cooperation continues.
V. Zelensky confirmed new agreements reached regarding the supply of “Patriot” systems, and White House representatives announced the preparation of a draft for new sanctions against Russia.
According to commentators, the real negotiation process between Washington and Moscow will begin only when both countries have sufficient motives and concrete proposals, and until then, economic and industrial pressure on Russia will only increase.
