Applicants to universities concluded 13,128 study contracts, while colleges concluded 8,590.

This year’s Lithuanian high school graduates, together with those who completed the International Baccalaureate diploma program, concluded 12,962 study contracts.
The general admission to higher education institutions, which began on June 1, offered applicants 618 study programs from 15 universities and 13 colleges, with admission taking place to 594 programs.
During the general admission, 30,160 people with a high school diploma submitted applications to LAMA BPO and entered at least one preference. 22,718 people met the minimum requirements set for state-funded places or to receive a study scholarship.
This year, the majority of study contracts at universities were signed for programs in the social sciences study field group – 16.42 percent. The second place was the health sciences field group, with 12.85 percent of admitted persons signing contracts, the third was the engineering sciences study field group – 12.13 percent. The fourth was the business and public management sciences field group – 10.95 percent, and the fifth was the computer sciences field group – 10.09 percent.
In colleges, the majority of study contracts were concluded for health sciences study field group programs – 24.12 percent of admitted students signed study contracts. The second largest was the business and public management study field group – 22.88 percent, the third – engineering sciences group – 20.20 percent, the fourth – social sciences study field group – 9.15 percent, and the fifth – education sciences field group – 8.93 percent.
At universities, 8,873 study contracts were concluded for state-funded places, with the average competitive score of those studying there reaching 7.58.
The most such contracts were concluded with Vilnius University (VU) (3,621), Kaunas University of Technology (1,194), and Vilnius Gediminas Technical University (“Vilnius Tech”) (1,171).
The largest number of students was enrolled in Vilnius University’s Economics and Finance (260), Law (215), and Medicine (196) study programs.
Applicants concluded 3,976 state-funded study contracts with colleges, with their average competitive score reaching 5.76.
In the college sector, the most state-funded study contracts were concluded with Vilnius College – 1,489, Kaunas College – 1,094, and Lithuanian Engineering College – 377.

The largest number of students was enrolled in the General Practice Nursing study program, conducted at Vilnius College (132) and Kaunas College (122), as well as the Primary Education Pedagogy study program conducted at Vilnius College (107).
1,265 applicants with at least one 100-point state maturity exam score will start studies at Lithuanian higher education institutions, of whom 699 are this year’s graduates.
The most top scorers will study at VU – 347.
8,869 study contracts were concluded for non-state-funded study places: 4,255 at universities, 4,614 at colleges. The average competitive score of those paying for studies in the university sector is 6.13, and in colleges – 4.19.
In the university sector, the most non-state-funded students were enrolled at VU (994), Vytautas Magnus University (VDU) (687), “Vilnius Tech” (487), Lithuanian University of Health Sciences (484), and Mykolas Romeris University (390).
In colleges – Vilnius College (1,104), Kaunas College (885), Klaipėda State College (473), SMK University of Applied Social Sciences (435), and Utena College (364).
1,578 first-year students will start studies in teacher qualification programs, of whom 838 are in state-funded places.
The majority of future pedagogy students chose Preschool and Pre-primary Education studies at Kaunas College (185), Primary Education Pedagogy study program at Vilnius College (162), and Subject Pedagogy study program at VDU (138).
Admission to universities and colleges took place according to two competitive queues – the second competitive queue could be used by persons meeting the social dimension or practical experience criteria established by the Law on Science and Studies.
800 persons were invited to state-funded places according to this queue. 51 percent of those invited under the second competitive queue are persons with practical work experience. 696 persons signed study contracts, of whom 351 in the university sector, 345 in the college sector.
18 applicants concluded study contracts for short-cycle study programs this year, of whom 11 are in state-funded places. They will study at Lithuanian Business College, SMK University of Applied Social Sciences, Šiauliai State College, and Vilnius College.
