Latvian border guards turned back 51 migrants on Thursday, while eight attempts to illegally enter the country were recorded at the Polish border on Wednesday.
This year, more than 1.2 thousand illegal migrants have been denied entry into Lithuania. Last year, there were more than 1.6 thousand attempts to enter the country illegally from Belarus, and the year before that, the number was 1002.
Since the beginning of the migration crisis caused by Belarus, Lithuanian border guards have prevented more than 25.8 thousand foreigners from entering the country illegally.
