As reported by the company “Grinda”, over the weekend at one of Vilnius beaches, “Grinda” lifeguards rescued a drowning seven-year-old boy.

“The lifeguards noticed that the child submerged underwater did not resurface for a long time and immediately rushed to help.

After being pulled ashore, the boy was conscious. An ambulance was called to the scene, and the child was taken for further observation,” the company stated in a Facebook message.

Fortunately, this incident ended successfully.

However, the lifeguards say that such incidents once again remind us that it is necessary to stay vigilant near water and never take your eyes off children even for a moment.

“Even on supervised beaches, the most important factor for children’s safety is adult attention,” the “Grinda” lifeguards remind parents and other adults spending time with children near bodies of water.
