Latvian border guards turned back seven migrants on Friday, while no attempts to illegally enter the country were recorded at the Polish border on Thursday.

So far this year, nearly 1.4 thousand illegal migrants have been denied entry into Lithuania. Last year, there were more than 1.6 thousand attempts to enter the country illegally from Belarus in unauthorized places, and the year before that, the number was 1002.
Since the beginning of the migration crisis caused by Belarus, Lithuanian border guards have prevented 26 thousand foreigners from entering the country illegally.

The influx of migrants into the eastern EU members from Belarus began in 2021, with the West accusing the Minsk regime of organizing it.
