As already reported, a pre-trial investigation was initiated upon receiving a report from the victim about a conflict that occurred on June 27 this year at J. Bagdonavičius’s home. The statement was written by the prosecutor’s wife. A service inspection was also initiated at the General Prosecutor’s Office regarding this incident, and the prosecutor was immediately suspended from duties.

The data collected by the officers of the Criminal Police Serious Crimes Investigation Department of the Panevėžys County Chief Police Commissariat who conducted the pre-trial investigation reasonably suggest that on June 27, the accused, being intoxicated, deliberately struck his wife with no fewer than five blows to different parts of her body and threatened to kill her.
Such actions may constitute criminal offenses specified in Article 140 (2) (“Causing physical pain or minor health disorder”) and Article 145 (1) (“Threatening to kill or seriously harm a person’s health or terrorizing a person”) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Lithuania.

The accused admits his guilt. The criminal case has been transferred to the Kaunas District Court for trial.
