The season was officially opened by the president of the Latvian Ice Hockey Federation Aigars Kalvītis, the president of the Estonian Ice Hockey Association Rauno Parras, and the president of the “Hockey Lietuva” association Vaidas Budrauskas.
“We are glad to have the opportunity to be part of a strong championship, as it allows Lithuanian clubs and players to improve and strengthens the national team in the long term. I hope that soon Klaipėda and Kaunas teams will join the league, which will increase the competitiveness of the championship,” said V. Budrauskas at the press conference.
The first of the two Lithuanian clubs in the championship to start will be Vilnius “Hockey Punks – Mototoja,” which on Saturday at 16:30 will host the “Riga HS/Dinaburga” (Latvia) team at the Vilnius entertainment arena.

Elektrėnai “Energija” will start the championship on September 15 with an away game against Riga HK “Prizma/RTU” (Latvia).

Daugavpils (Latvia) returns to the championship, merging with Riga HS and will be called “Riga HS/Dinaburga”.
