Employees of „Tele2“ who choose nine months of voluntary military service will also have their job position and additional health insurance preserved. Employees receiving a lower salary will have their current salary maintained.

„Tele2“ joins the initiative of the association „Universal Defense,“ which invites Lithuanian companies to find concrete ways to support employees who voluntarily choose military service.

According to P. Masiulis, employer involvement can provide more clarity and assurance to people considering service. At the same time, it gives businesses the opportunity to contribute to strengthening the country’s defense with concrete solutions.
„For a person making the decision to serve, it is important to know that the workplace understands and supports their choice. We want our colleagues to be able to focus on service knowing that after it they can smoothly return to their team,“ says P. Masiulis.

In Lithuania, voluntary service can be performed by young men and women aged 18–39.
