Support of 13 million euros for residents who have installed solar power plants

The number of prosumers in Lithuania is rapidly increasing, so our goal is to ensure that as many residents as possible can take advantage of the sunny season. Last year, more than 53 thousand residents joined the prosumers, so we continue to encourage investing in private solar power plants and choosing quality, efficient, and European Union-made solutions. We hope that by the end of this year, there will be 200 thousand prosumers in Lithuania,” says Deputy Minister of Energy Airidas Daukšas.

The support amount will be 170 euros per 1 kW, and for equipment meeting additional criteria – 221 euros per 1 kW. Support will be granted for solar power plants with an installed capacity of no more than 7 kW, but residents can install larger solar power plants according to their needs.

Higher support will be granted if the installed equipment meets additional criteria: the technology and its components are not manufactured in a third country, i.e., a country whose share of the respective production exceeds 50% of the supply in the European Union, and the solar module efficiency exceeds 23%.

Funding can be granted for solar power plants installed from February 1, 2022 – thus, residents who installed power plants earlier but did not manage to receive support under previous calls will also be able to take advantage of this opportunity.

To contribute as effectively as possible to increasing the number of prosumers, funding will not be granted for increasing the capacity of previously installed solar power plants. Also, these conditions do not apply to the purchase of solar power plants from remote parks – a separate call will be announced for them in the second half of this year.

Applications for support will be accepted by APVIS from June 9 at 8 a.m., until the entire allocated amount of funds is exhausted.

Another call for applications for residential solar power plant installation support is tentatively planned for the end of this year.
