As written on the Facebook page “Weather and Climate in Lithuania,” current calculations show that a southern cyclone will visit Lithuania. There will be a lot of rain. Most rain is expected in Western Lithuania, where in some places up to 30–50 mm of precipitation may fall – this is at least 1–2 weeks’ worth of precipitation in one day. Some other weather models show even higher numbers.

Nevertheless, this is a southern cyclone, and such formations, as is often the case, do not always conform to forecasts. Therefore, the information should be treated with caution for now. The zone of the heaviest precipitation may still shift to one side or the other. The situation should be clearer tomorrow.
