“Neighbors called each other – everyone confirmed that no one has electricity, although everyone received the good news that it is restored. I wanted to report the fault – it wouldn’t allow me. I called – I registered it so they wouldn’t think that after 78 hours the fault was fixed and everyone happily got their electricity back,” she said.
According to Lina, the same situation happened in the Anykščiai district, where residents also received notifications after 72 hours that electricity was restored, but they are still forced to sit in the dark.

Some residents discussing this situation on social networks raised questions about whether ESO is acting this way to avoid paying compensation to residents. ESO had promised to compensate customers for direct storm damages if the power restoration took longer than 72 hours.
ESO’s public relations representative Rasa Juodkienė rejected such suspicions and explained the situation.
