Candidates can submit documents until September 21. The offered salary is from 3596 to 4495 euros before taxes.
The future leader is required to have a higher university education, at least three years of managerial work experience, knowledge of one foreign language (English, French, or German) at no less than B2 level, and an impeccable reputation as defined in the Public Institutions Act.
The director, among other things, will be responsible for the institution’s strategy and annual plans, contract conclusion, asset use, hiring and dismissal of employees, and public competitions for department heads.

Leadership change – the second this year
Longtime manor director Snieguolė Navickienė, who led the institution since 2009, became the deputy mayor of Kaunas district in February this year. The mayor Valerijus Makūnas then temporarily appointed the manor’s financial officer Kotryna Inga Morkūnaitė to lead the institution – until the competition.

At the beginning of September, after information about possible violations in conducting the manor’s public procurements appeared in the public space, K. I. Morkūnaitė and her deputy Egidijus Morkūnas were temporarily suspended from their duties, and Ugnė Žemgulienė is temporarily leading the institution. The mayor contacted the Public Procurement Office, the Chief Official Ethics Commission, and the Financial Crime Investigation Service.
Member of Parliament Mindaugas Lingė publicized that from 2022 to 2026, the manor concluded 29 non-competitive contracts with the deputy director’s company, with a total value exceeding 71 thousand euros. An LRT investigation also revealed that many people associated with the ruling social democrats worked or work at the manor. The manor’s budget is about 4 million euros, with the main funding coming from the Kaunas district municipality.
