This will be the third time the Champions League winner is decided at this Bavarian region stadium. It happened in 2012 (won by London’s Chelsea) and in 2025 (won by Paris Saint-Germain).

Additionally, three Champions League finals were held earlier at the now less frequently used Olympic Stadium in Munich – in 1979 (won by Nottingham Forest), 1993 (won by Marseille Olympique), and 1997 (won by Borussia Dortmund).
Meanwhile, the 2029 Champions League final will be hosted by the Camp Nou stadium in Barcelona, the capital of Catalonia, home to the Barcelona club.
Opened in 1957, the stadium has hosted finals twice – in 1989 (won by AC Milan) and 1999 (won by Manchester United).
However, this time the Camp Nou final will be held after a major renovation, ongoing since 2022 and still unfinished. The work is planned to be completed by early 2028, after which the seating capacity will expand from 99,700 to as many as 104,600.

Before renovation, Camp Nou was the largest stadium in Europe, and after it, it will only strengthen this status.
Interestingly, in the competition to host the 2029 final, Camp Nou beat the second largest football stadium in Europe – London’s Wembley, which holds 90,000 people.
This season’s final was previously assigned to Madrid – it will be held on June 5 at the Metropolitano stadium, home to Atletico club.
