Latvian border guards turned back 87 migrants on Monday, while 11 attempts to illegally enter the country were blocked at the Polish border on Sunday.

More than 1,000 illegal migrants have been denied entry to Lithuania this year. Last year, there were more than 1,600 attempts to enter the country illegally from Belarus in unauthorized locations, and the year before that, the number was 1,002.
Since the beginning of the migration crisis caused by Belarus, Lithuanian border guards have prevented more than 25,600 foreigners from illegally entering the country.

The influx of migrants into the eastern EU members from Belarus began in 2021, with the West accusing the Minsk regime of organizing it.
