On August 19, 2026, officers of the Klaipėda County VPK Road Police Department, responding to residents’ complaints and information on social networks, conducted an intensified police operation in Klaipėda and Klaipėda district aimed at controlling traffic violations committed by electric micro-mobility vehicle drivers. A total of 8 traffic violations were identified.

Seven minors drove electric mopeds without having the right to do so, the mopeds were not registered according to the established procedure, they did not undergo the mandatory technical inspection, and were not insured with compulsory civil liability insurance. One minor drove an electric micro-mobility vehicle without being 16 years old and without attending special courses.

The parents of the minors were called to the places of violations. Administrative offense protocols were drawn up for seven of them for handing over the vehicle to a person not entitled to drive. One was charged for buying an electric micro-mobility vehicle for a minor under 16 and allowing them to use it freely without ensuring that they had attended special courses (according to Article 73 of the LR Administrative Offenses Code).
