The Klaipėda city municipality announced on Friday that electric scooter traffic is prohibited in Danė park. It is being considered that such bans could be introduced in other places as well.
It is only allowed to independently ride an electric scooter on the streets from the age of 16, and with a certificate after special courses – from 14 years old. Since the beginning of this year, helmets have become mandatory for all scooter riders.

It is strictly forbidden to carry passengers on a scooter, to ride on pedestrian paths, or to cross a pedestrian crossing without getting off your vehicle. The maximum allowed speed is 20 km/h, and when riding on the sidewalk or path near a pedestrian, you must slow down to their walking pace – no more than 7 km/h.
