“Everything happened very quickly. I had plans at home with my wife and received a call with an offer. I immediately said yes. I did not negotiate or do anything to delay the process, and after a few minutes, I already talked to the coach and was packing my bags. During the first conversation, I felt something strong, it immediately seemed that everything was good. I saw the stadium, the city. We are close to the group stage, fighting for the title. There were no doubts,” the footballer said in his first interview.

Playing in the midfielder position, I. Fioličius was pleasantly surprised by the quality of his new teammates and was happy about the healthy competition within the team.

“I feel best in the attacking midfielder position, but I can also play as a wing midfielder. I will play wherever I am needed. As soon as I arrived, the coach said this is a very good team. In the first training and the first matches, I saw that we really have a good squad. I immediately saw that the players in the team are very competitive, and that is great for the team. We will all push each other forward, and that is the most important thing. Only this way will we be better every day, and it will allow us to achieve our goals,” said I. Fioličius.

The new Žalgiris player is a graduate of the famous Croatian football club Dinamo Zagreb.

“Talking about Dinamo, I get emotional because it is the club of my hometown where I grew up. Many good footballers who now play in the national team grew up there. There is always huge competition there, which pushes players forward and makes them improve,” the Croatian spoke about his former club.

During his career, I. Fioličius has also played in various countries and has won several trophies. According to the player, the desire to win is one of the most important things.

“I am a person who must win. Even when playing board games with my wife, I have to win, and if I don’t, I get angry. I think this helps in football too. In the Dinamo system, losing is not normal, and that’s how I grew up. I don’t like losing, I am not normal when I lose, and I would say that looking at my achievements, I am proud of them. I hope there will be titles here as well,” the midfielder said during the interview.
