The new Žalgiris player arrived in Lithuania while the team was in the Faroe Islands, so he spoke about watching those matches, and later told about joining “Kauno Žalgiris”.
“It all started a year ago when the club showed interest in me. Eventually nothing happened, but this year I already know the coach from my previous clubs, I have worked with him. We started conversations with the coaching staff, and I really wanted to come here and give my all,” added the player with Italian and Kosovan citizenships.
L.Kastrati recalled working with coach Ž.Sopičius and spoke about wanting to earn a place in the starting 11.

“I am ready. I believe that the greater the internal team competition, the higher the team’s level. Healthy competition is always good because you put in more effort and want to show your best qualities. I think all the guys feel the same way and everyone has to prove their worth on the field,” L.Kastrati assessed.
Finally, the footballer also revealed his playing style.
“I am a fairly fast and aggressive defender. My character and attitude are such that I never give up, regardless of the circumstances. I had the privilege of playing in Rome, where I trained with the main team, and the footballers playing there taught me a lot. I have also played a couple of matches with the national team, so I think I have accumulated good experience that I will be able to demonstrate in Kaunas,” L.Kastrati said.
