„Our project perfectly meets the conditions set out in the call. We have no doubt that the application would be positively evaluated and would score a high number of points. There is a possibility that partial funding would cover half of the project amount,“ says Tadas Metelionis, Director of the Kaunas City Municipality Administration.

The Extreme Sports Center, intended for amateurs and professionals, would be partially funded under the Ministry of Education, Science and Sports development program for 2022–2030, if funding is granted.
The new facility plans to develop skateboarding, cycling, trick scooters, and other extreme sports disciplines. The technology of the installed equipment will be adapted for rollerblades (“inline skate”), WCMX, BMX and MTB bikes, bouldering, parkour, and obstacle running.
The outdoor area is planned to include covered, open, and publicly accessible sports spaces. There will also be spaces for street-style sports areas with a bowl-shaped element, asphalt-surfaced “Pump Track” tracks, a beginner zone, as well as a parkour area, an outdoor climbing wall, and a spiral-shaped device for scooters, rollerblades, and other wheeled equipment.

During construction at the plot at S. Darius and S. Girėnas St. 29A, preparations are also underway to arrange and equip the center’s territory – visitor access, bicycle racks, a parking lot, lighting, greenery, and the engineering networks necessary for the facility’s operation.
The total estimated project value would reach 16.33 million euros. Upon receiving partial funding, 8 million euros would be allocated from the Ministry of Education, Science and Sports sports development program. The remaining amount would be covered by the municipality’s budget funds.
The 4,000 sq. m complex will be the largest in the Baltic States, suitable for both beginners and professionals.
